Did you have a good year fishing?
(N/A) Modified By mmastenbro on 11/12/2006 5:45:17 PM)

I had a good year fishing caught alot of fish and have moved to Muskegon.  Learning a new lake is hard for me but I am going as often as I can.  Walleye will start soon and I hope to go catching. Right now I am only fishing.

How was your year?

From my point of view, I would say the Lake Michigan Salmon and Trout fishing, out of Grand Haven, was good, but not excellent. I thought 2005 was better for numbers and 2006 was better for size. Overall, 2006 produced better sized fish, but not as many as 2004 and 2005. Also, there was a HUGE increase in Lampreys; like 10 times as many in 2006 as 2005. I thought the Coho numbers were down, along with the Steelhead, compared to years past. One great thing was the HUGE number of illegal Lake Trout being caught. This is a great sign for the upcoming years, in terms of the Lake Trout fishery. But, overall, the fishing still can not get any better than it has been the last 5 years.
