Grand Haven Salmon Report
 (United States)

Well, since Saturday, the King Salmon seem to have arrived in full force.  Limit catches are being caught very easily and quickly.  Reports of 12-18 King Salmon, along with a handful of Lake Trout, (not legal until May 1) are being caught within a couple hours.  The Reports have come from Grand Haven and Muskegon, with all reports being about the same.  The fishing has been excellent in the morning, afternoon, and evening.  It hasn't made a difference.

Most fish have all been Kings weighing between 8-18 pounds.  The best place to fish has been very close to the pierheads (in the harbor in Muskegon as well) in 20-35 feet of water.  Downriggers 10-21 feet down, Dipsy Divers back 25-40 feet, and 2-4 colors of Lead Core have all worked.   I wasn't told any specific lures, other than all Spoons.  I am sure the regular-sized Stingers and typical-sized and colored Spring Spoons are the ticket.

Many of us predicted, with the warmer weather and lighter winter, the Kings would show up about 2 weeks earlier than normal.  I think they have arrived even earlier!!!!!!  Fishing in Pentwater has improved drastically over the last few days with limits of Kings being reported, as well.  Everyone get out fishing and enjoy some excellent early Spring King Fishing!!!!!!!!
