trolling the sandbars
 (United States)
I went out twice this week trolled for 2 hours before sunset. I have a 12 foot aluminium boat that I keep on my parents beach 2 miles north of the pier heads. I trolled north both times to hoffmaster. I had no fish and no hits. I was running two cleos one silver/blue one silver/orange. Anyone else have any luck yet? Any other suggestions for lures? Do the dees flasher and j-plug really work?

Try running thundersticks in purple, reef runners, and Repela's 75 to 125 feet back, Don't forget to run a spoon 5' down and 5' behind a downrigger, We did very well on the downriggers like that last year.  Put your boards out 50' to 75 feet.  Try inside the first bar also.  Good luck and good fishing.
