Big Lake Trolling Report:

Fishing has slowed down a little out of Grand Haven as the water has warmed up. There are still some fish being caught from 100-180 feet of water anywhere from 40 to the bottom. There have been some nice Lake Trout being caught on metal dodger and spin-n-glows. Some smaller kings are still around and biting up high as well as some nicer kings near the bottom. Fish are coming on a variety of spoons such as blue mongoose, blue dolphins, lemon icicle, lime icicle, SOG, green dolphin and double org. crush. Some have been getting fish on paddles white and pearl fish scale, chrome and yellow and chrome and green near the bottom. The flies that continue to work are Oceana, green crinkle, green bubble and last supper.

Perch Fishing:

Out on the big lake some perch are still being caught on minnows. Perch are showing up close to the pier heads as well as the alewives.

Pan Fish:

Bluegill fishing is at its best right now as the waters are warming in the rivers. Wax worms with D.J’s tear drops and demon glows are working the best.

Bass are also being caught throughout the Grand River, Spring Lake and the bayou’s.

Big Lake Trolling

Salmon fishing is HOT off Grand Haven with good numbers of large Kings and some Lakers. Best action has been 60fow out to 145fow catching fish from 30' down to 80'. Spoons have been producing the best with regular size Dreamweavers the best and colors have been mixed. Our best has been Goldie Hawn and her Sister, Yellow Jacket, Lemon Icycle and Blue Dolphins. The Fuzzy Bear Mags have been good also Modified Blue Dolphins, Benefactor, Aly Cat and Flea For All. Some Spin Doctors are catching nice Kings, the Lemon Ice and Carmel Dolphin with Mirage Flys.

Perch Fishing

Perch fishing remains good the bath house hole has slowed some but nice Perch are being caught off Brucker Beach in 60' to 70' with Wigglers and Shiner Minnnows the best baits. The Ron Spring Perch rigs work great for the Perch as don the Demon Glow Jigs.

Blue Gills and Crappie

The pan fish are doing very good in most all the local bayous most fish are starting to move into the shallows on the pre spawn. Wax Worms and red worms are the live bait of choice and spiders and poppers are also taking fish.

Stop by FISH ON for all your bait and tackle needs!
