Fishing Reports

Hello,

I'm glad I'm writing a report and not a forecast. I thought I'd better offer a short update as the water warmed up off of Grand Haven and the fish moved again. The action started in 130 this morning with a glow Paddle and secret white glow fly that my son ties working well around 105' down. After things got a little brighter the 8" white double slick glow Spin Dr. with a Pickled Sunshine fly fished on a magnum Dipsy Diver rig set 140' back started picking away. Fishing remained pretty steady out to 200' with the 180' range looking the best. The usual cast of spoons continued to work from 50' on down and on longer coppers and lead cores. Now that I've told you this information the wind and currents will change and the water will turn cold again and you'll need to refer to my previous report (that really is going to happen according to the forecast). Pay attention to the surface temps on your way out in the morning and if you see temps dropping into the mid 60's it'll probably be a good idea to slow down and check things out.

Good luck and I'll see you out on the water somewhere between shore and 8 miles out.

Matt Whitney
