Grand Haven—Pier angling has slowed for steelhead and browns. Anglers are using spawn and casting spoons as means to try and catch steelhead and browns.
Perch fishing is getting better, but still not every boat or angler is catching limits. Anglers are fishing all 3 holes south of the south pier. The holes’ names are the Bil-Mar, Griffen, and Brucker St. Anglers are using spikes, wigglers, and minnows and not one seems to be out fishing another.
Salmon anglers have been catching kings, browns, steelhead and lake trout. Anglers have been trolling the shore and out to 100’. Still using short coppers and leadcore with body/jointed body baits and their favorite spring color small lures.
Muskegon---Pier and shore angling has also slowed here. If fishing, spawn is bait of choice.
Salmon anglers are also catching kings, browns, steelhead, and lake trout here. Anglers have been trolling the shore and the basin (in between the south and north pier arms). Anglers are also using short leadcore and coppers here with blue veggie, UV, gold, and orange spoons.
