Fishing Reports

So you want to go fishing eh? Good news for you! Right now you can chase perch, steelhead and a few kings near the piers fishing with plenty of orange near the surface and a few plugs like the chrome/red headed J-plug. Minnows, wax worms and shrimp chunks for the perch. Fishing inside has been better for the guys fishing from the piers with alewives than it has for boat anglers. For a little more elbow room move out to 100 - 125 fow and again go heavy with orange when selecting your baits and focus on the top 50' of water. If you're really tired of other boats go to 170 fow and continue west until you feel like turning. Each of the last two options have yielded decent catches over the last couple of days but as always there's more water than fish so catches have ranged from 5 on up into the teens for those venturing offshore. Slicks are plentiful so don't spend too much time on one that's not producing.

Time for me to stop typing and get back to fishing. Gold watermelon 85 back on a high diver going crazy right now!

Good luck,
Matt Whitney
