Fishing Reports

The dirty water and debris from the rivers and lakes has really made fishing hard for both boat anglers and pier fishermen.

Grand Haven—Anglers are using spawn to fish for browns, steelhead, and whitefish. All have been caught, but in VERY few numbers.

No boat info.

The boat launch on Harbor Island has no docks to launch boats. The City of Grand Haven (I assume) has taken them out because of the high water level of the Grand River. I do not know when they will be put back in.

Holland—Boat anglers have been out of Holland and Port Sheldon. Dirty water is out to 40’-50’ and as far south as Saugatuck. Boat anglers were trolling 30’-40’ down with orange and gold body baits or spoons. A few lake trout, 1 brown, and 3 kings were caught. 2 kings were “shakers” and thrown back, but 1 was nice, around 10lbs.

Pier anglers are trying for browns and steelhead, but slim luck.

No perch at either port.
